Fintan Magee’s reaches new heights with this project titled ‘The Refugee’, which transforms the side of the End to End building on Easey Street, Collingwood. The clever three-story mural shows a young man holding a bowl of water, where a Queensland style house sits on its stilts and is on fire.
“For this piece I wanted to tell the story of a climate refugee in the future, his backpack is full of materials for rebuilding, he carries his memory of his lost home, his world is flooded,” said Fintan.
“The Refugee” is the first time the Sydney-based artist whose artwork often deals with issues of climate change and cultural identity, has worked with Juddy Roller.
