When completed in 2025, the Metro Tunnel will untangle the City Loop, allowing more trains to run more often across Melbourne. During its construction, the Metro Tunnel Creative Program ensures that Melbourne remains vibrant through temporary public art and placemaking. Through the program, the Metro Tunnel Project engages artists to produce creative interventions on the project’s construction hoardings, temporary structures, and help activate pop-up spaces near project construction sites. Spatial deconstruction #23 (resilience) is by visual artist Emma Coulter and was painted onto two sides of the City Square acoustic shed in February 2021. Juddy Roller is very proud to have had the opportunity to help Emma Coulter realise this amazing artwork situated in the heart of Melbourne, located on Swanston St. The artwork’s title is Do yourself a favour and check this incredibly powerful work out in person next time you visit the City of Melbourne. Thanks to Charlie Kinross or the pics, and artists Linger, Lloyd Knowles and Salad Bowl for recreating this work in large scale!
